Today is the 61st birthday of the original Michael Phelps.  Mark Spitz, an American swimmer, swam in the 1972 Munich Olympics and won a record-breaking 7 Gold Medals.  This was the single Olympic Gold Medal record until 2008’s Athens games, at which Michael Phelps won eight.
